So some of the usual suspects and I checked out Mosse last night for the opening. We arrived at 12:30 hoping to give the place the best time to get packed and 'jumpin'. We rolled up and could hear music echoing out of the basement and we were like ohh noe (echoes usually mean the place is fairly empty as the music is just bouncing around in the bare shell) but we decided to enter.
Downstairs we found that the reason for the echoes was that the Dfloor as at the front which was mainly empty, but the bar are was packed with everyone trying to make the most of cheap drank specials.
We queued and queued for the bar and were finally served, suddenly i thought i was in chasers or some other wog assimilated bar on Chapel st. From waiting in line to getting to the bar to actually ordering drinks took 30min. There were 2 pathetic bar staff who were doing their very best worst to bring the mood down. Not only did they not mirror the patrons of Mosse but they were also quite moody all like "what do you want?". Yes they were understaffed (there were 2 bar staff and there should have been 4) but they didn't seem to be trying.
The DJ's were top notch with many familiar face floating around behind the decks.
Overall i was stoked on the night, the drink prices were more than reasonable, the atmosphere and music were great but the bar service needs work. (Like fire those wog bitches)
See you there next time!?
moss.
